THE FOUR SEASONS HOTEL MEGÈVE, A GENTLY SLOPE TO WINTER
Open since the end of 2017, the Four Seasons Hotel Megève is the fruit of the collaboration between the famous hotel group Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage Group. Since 1920, the Rothschild family has contributed to the development of this essential Haute-Savoie winter resort, a loving combination that works brilliantly.
Very customised service and attention to every detail, this is what characterises this union and can be verified on the threshold of the Four Seasons Hotel Megève. On arrival, time stops and you forget everything to give way to serenity. Perched on the heights of Megève, facing Mont d’Arbois, this hotel was designed to make life easy for its guests, whether for a holiday, a short stay, or even an hour…
The architecture of the site, both modern and elegant, fits perfectly into a beautiful unspoilt setting. The interior decoration will not leave you indifferent. Selected by Baroness Ariane de Rothschild, the works of art that adorn the walls of the hotel reflect the history of her family. Meanwhile, the garden furniture has been acquired from responsible organisations and foundations specialising in sustainable agroforestry projects in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
On the cocooning and relaxation side, a 900m2 contemporary and uncluttered spa, entirely in white, gives the feeling of being surrounded by fresh snow. The indoor pool, with a balneotherapy and counter-current swimming area, reaches comfortably to the exterior, and is an ideal setting for relaxation after a day of sports. Consistent with this guiding line that gives pride of place to well-being, the Four Seasons Hotel Megève offers five restaurants, including the gourmet restaurant “Le 1920”, with its two Michelin stars, led by Chef Julien Gatillon, famous for his perfectionism both in taste and visually. For oenology lovers, the Four Seasons Hotel Megève boasts a spectacular wine cellar, located at the end of a transparent glass and metal staircase, which can house up to 14,000 bottles of wine. The most! Offer yourself an exclusive moment by privatising it for a wine tasting session or dinner, surrounded by around 1,000 wine references chosen by Head Sommelier Alexandre Pons. You will discover the great names and smaller appellations; the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage wines as well as the Château Lafite 1869, among other wonders.
A multitude of activities are offered for the sports-minded: skiing, helicopter and hot air balloon rides, dog sled rides and many more. Children can try out the electric snowmobile, try cooking or patisserie classes and of course be introduced to the pleasure of skiing.
Note that Santa Claus will arrive by sledge on December 25th and the Domaine’s hotel restaurants will offer exceptional menus for the end of year celebrations. There is only one destination to choose for this season – and for much longer after: the Four Seasons Hotel Megève.
